WaveBridge Multiplex is Final Release Version
I just spoke with Investor relations and they assured me that the WaveBridge Multiplex (MT) product that they announced is a final release, production ready product. They said that they completed very full and intensive testing in order to ensure that Plaintree's reputation for high quality products would not be compromised. They also stated that these products are for sale now and they are in a position to begin manufacturing as orders are received.
This is incredible news!!! My first impression of the news release was that the development schedule was ahead by 2 1/2 months as we originally expected the Beta Version to be ready in late December. Then the customers would test the product and with their feed back it would be modified and made into the production version. With the news that the testing has been completed and that this is a final release product, it moves up the sales and revenue schedule as well. We were under them impression that sales would come in Q1 2001 from the new fiberless products. Throw that out the window folks. We have a product that can be sold now if they find the right customer and from what we have been told over the last month, there are customers waiting for this technology.
Read the press release again knowing this little tidbit and see what you think. This is truly amazing news. This part of the press release has a whole new meaning now "The ISP market has strongly requested this Multiplex product which offers unique capabilities. We have completed the design work on this product substantially ahead of schedule," Mr. Watson continued, "and we are also on track for our dedicated WaveBridge Telco series and our WaveBridge ATM series, which will meet the higher capacity requirements in the marketplace. Plaintree has listened to its target customers and is working very hard to meet their requirements and frankly, the response has been beyond our original expectations."
Now when you combine that with the information that Webbio posted in his original message on StockHouse, you can't help but 'Smelllllll what the Rock is Cookin'! Check this out from Webbio's post.................... stockhouse.com
Watson stated several times that customers wanted to buy right away but he was holding them back until they have the new product. Here's what he said in the Stockhouse Interview................. stockhouse.ca
StockHouse: Do you have potential customers who have already shown interest in this product?
Watson: Right now we have customers waving large potential orders under our nose saying, 'Get us the product, if we like it, this is yours.' They are very hot for the product right now. There is an immediate demand for it, and we are definitely one of the leading competitors for this business.
This was also stated in the OBJ Interview....................... ottawabusinessjournal.com
Plaintree's CEO David Watson said Monday a worldwide tour to find out what Plaintree customers wanted had resulted in a flood of tentative orders to the company and a positive market reaction.
Watson has visited customers in England, the Middle East, Asia and Africa since April. He will tour Europe and South America in the coming months.
"Just one customer alone said they might place an order for 700 links," Watson said. Several other large customers have indicated they could place similar orders.
"I went specifically to discuss with clients what they want. We are designing our product to a niche market you find out what they really want then you go back to your engineers."
Watson said he would take customer feedback to the company’s engineers to develop a new range of tailor-made optical switches and related products.
You don't even have to read between the lines to figure this one out. I sense we will hear some more news very shortly!
In the same article Watson stated this..................
Watson said Plaintree representatives have met with three major analyst companies including Nesbitt Burns to discuss Plaintree’s stock boom. "They seem to be very supportive of the company," Watson said.
At the AGM Watson stated that several analysts had expressed an interest and they indicated that they would consider initiating coverage once the beta versions were ready. In other words, there wasn't likely to be any new coverage until December. Guess what? That's all going to change also now that the first product has been released and especially because it is the production version. I would expect to hear of at least one analyst initiating coverage soon especially when the first contract comes out.
With the new PR firm and all of this ammunition for them to work with, I think we will see a steady flow of information from here on in. These prices will only be distant memory in the near future. |
