If Bob doesn't mine, I'll try to respond to your question. Usually a drilling rig drills the well (it is a rather large heavy piece of equipment) and if the logs of the wellbore indicate that a completion effort is warranted, they will bring in a "completion rig" which is a comparatively small, lighter piece of equipment (remember this rig doesn't really have to drill, it just allows access to the bottom of the well to treat the formation or formations which will be completed.
