Petz,

I have been reading some of the mod thread's posts re the earnings report. And the one thing that keeps coming up repeatedly is the disappointment over the lower ASP's. And yet for what seems like years but has been only months, all everyone has talked about, particularly on the mod thread, is how AMD needs to gain market share.

If that's truly what most people think is best and I would tend to agree with that notion, then how in hell do they expect to gain market share without undercutting your competitor's prices. And if the major way to gain market share is to undercut, then how in hell do you expect to avoid lowering your ASP's. Its really very logical....lower chip prices lead to higher market share and lower ASP's but revenue growth remains fairly constant. In my opinion it makes for a great deal.

I have to say that soon the mod thread is going to expect Sanders and Ruiz to start walking on water, or turn wafers into chips without the aid of machinery. Sorry to rant but this whole argument/disappointment thing is getting a little anal in my opinion.
