The only plausible explanation is that there is/was a slowdown in Europe for Commercial/Business PCs - and possibly in the US as well.

Retail sales in Europe may be OK - and may also be OK in the US.

This is the only scenario that I can think of that explains why Intel would see a "weakness" in Europe - and AMD wouldn't - simply because AMD does not have any significant Commercial/Business PCs - in Europe or in the US.

Hence, AMD is doing fine and Intel has pockets of weakness.

I'm surprised that none of the so called analysts have reached this - or any other - explanation for the apparent disparity between Intel and AMD.
