Funny you should say that. I was talking about that today with a friend in the Fab biz. We both felt it was quite likely this project would slip a lot further than the advertised dates. As, I suspect, will most new 300mm Fabs.

Whee haw though, the East Fishkill nature preserve will once again echo to the clangor of chip fabrication. It will take them weeks just to clear the encroaching jungle from the old parking lots. Biggest Fab in the history of NY State, I heard. I guess that's like the biggest skyscraper in Fresno.

I remember very vividly the day that Fishkill died. 4000 layoffs in one day, or something like that. I was in the middle of a business conversation from the west coast to Fishkill, and the guy suddenly said "uhoh, gotta go... they're coming for me..."

Edit: just read chic's message. I totally agree that the technology is/will be world-class.
