That article points out the handicaps of Honda's manual system. It also says
Toyota Motor Corp., meanwhile, has a voice-activated system. The driver shouts out items such as “news” from a set menu, and the data pops up on the screen.
but does not comment further on that approach.

I'm interested in seeing whether or not General Magic's platform get used in one or more of these new telematics offerings in addition to Onstar.
