AMSTERDAM, Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 12, 2000--PSINet Inc. (Nasdaq: PSIX - news), the Internet Super Carrier, today announced the opening of its new hosting center in Amsterdam.
The facility will provide advanced and secure Internet based eCommerce and eBusiness application services to companies throughout Europe. The 113,000 square foot facility is located at Johan Siegerstraat 9-17 in Southeast Amsterdam.
The center is part of PSINet's strategy to provide complete Internet solutions for business on a global scale. The Amsterdam Hosting Center offers managed hosting services, or complete Web hosting solutions, with PSINet purchasing and maintaining Internet equipment, software and security to reduce the customer's capital costs of mission-critical business applications on the Internet.
The company also provides dedicated and collocation hosting, customised eCommerce and multimedia services. Collocation hosting services are for businesses wishing to capitalize on previous investments in their own Internet equipment and the secure, reliable features of the Amsterdam Hosting Centre.

Like all of PSINet's hosting centers, the Amsterdam facility offers Web hosting, high-speed network connectivity and complete security. The facility, which can house up to 3,500 racks, is connected to PSINet's fully owned and managed network, with bandwidth in excess of 80 Gbit/s.
