You're problem is that you feel you are divinely entitled to receive cheap oil to keep you car going and your house warm. What will you do in a cold winter if the lights go out? I'll bet you'll wish that domestic oil companies would have been allowed explore off the California coast. Gas is worth about $100 bbl, less than a third of that is the cost of the oil, most of it (50%) is tax.

When people like you personally feel the pinch all your convictions are out the window, this next time it might be too late.
