Recent exploration on the Stope Baby project, located in the Quesnel trench of central British Columbia, has returned some encouraging results. Low water conditions have permitted resumption of geologic mapping and sampling in Moffit Canyon adjoining the previously announced high-grade polymetallic discovery. A total of four new mineralized zones has been discovered to the west of the discovery showing, all of which carry significant mineralization over widths of 15 to 25 centimetres. The mineralized zone now exceeds 100 metres in width, and occurs in Triassic volcanics, with a well-developed quartz-carbonate stockwork. Although lack of rock exposure has prevented mapping of the lateral extension of this mineralized zone, it appears to be defined by a resistivity anomaly which is centrally located within a broad, low-grade chargeability anomaly. It is intended that the current diamond drilling program will be expanded to test this target area. Sampling of the new zones returned the following assay values:
Cu Pb Zn Ag Au % % % g/t g/t

In addition, two diamond drill holes have been drilled to date to test the discovery showing. Drill hole 1-2000 was drilled to the southeast at negative 45 degrees and shows significant quartz and carbonate stockwork in the volcanics from near surface to hole bottom at 556 feet. The target zone was encountered from 119.9 to 121.7 metres, and consisted of semi-massive sphalerite enclosing blebs of galena and chalcopyrite within a grey-green carbonate zone. Assay results for this interval returned values of 0.13 per cent Cu, 0.10 per cent Pb, 3.57 per cent Zn, 9.1 grams per tonne (g/t) Ag and 0.42 g/t Au. All assaying was conducted by Acme Laboratories of Vancouver, B.C. The gold and silver values are the result of fire assaying, while the lead, zinc and copper values were produced by wet chemical assaying methods. |
