Sudan's first year of petroleum export - ArabicNews, October 11

Sudan ended in August its first year of exporting raw petroleum produced by Sudanese, Canadian, Malaysian and Chinese companies.

The exported oil volume from three fields in south west of the country reached 64 million barrels which produced revenues worth 1.16 billion dollars. From these revenues, the share of the Chinese national company for oil and natural Gas was 320 million dollars while the share of the Sudanese government as well as the Malaysian and the Canadian companies reached 680 million dollars.

The Sudanese petroleum production began in 1999 with an average of 150,000 Barrels daily that was increased to 200,000 Barrels and will be half a million Barrels daily by the end of the current year as Sudan began since last July Benzene export operations with 40,000 tons daily that are expected to be increased to 60,000 tons.
