Perhaps the average part- or full-time trader, but not necessarily the average investor I would think.

In your case you are tuned to the options market and a quick opportunity here and there. The average investor is interested in buying Lucent at these levels, for the long term. They would like to see LU go to 30, let us say, by April so they can swagger around and speak of their good decision. These are the casual players, the ones who buy and hold. By chance I am running into them now, a few last night intended to buy LU this morning.

I and perhaps you make a living doing this. These people do not, they do not risk options trades. This is the first I've met anyone who is looking for bargains. It is unusual, in my memory, that it has taken this long for such people to materialize.

Just an observation....
