SellLow:
"Given that it is now October, why is it that Samsung still doesn't have a Rambus license to make SDRAM or DDR?"
I can think of a million good business reasons which likely have a correlation coefficient close to 1. Try: "no need to accelerate discussions with your best partner, when you can point your resources against the most flagrant violators" ..... or.. "a deal is already agreed in principle, but contract specifics aren't"... etc.
I can think of few negative (for RMBS) reasons, all of which would likely have an r2 approaching zero. Some would resemble your favorite delusions: "Rambus didn't bribe Samsung with enough stock, cash, booze and girls".. or .. "Samsung is BSing the world when it says it is going to make big capex in lines for RDRAM. Instead, they're going to make unlicensed SDRAM with these lines, which they will sell for piss poor margins, wildly fluctuating prices, and which will be used with Athlons and Thunderturds."
Why go with the leader when you can run with the pack? Why differentiate yourself when you can be just another? Why sell high added value, high margin when you can sell commodity items? Why sell under license when you can expose yourself to litigation, place your customers at risk, and have to sign a thousand expanded hold harmless agreements? LOL.
All IMHO. Go ahead now, take it out of context and spin. I would expect nothing other!
