I've fallen hopelessly behind in reading the Mod thread and it was getting a little sickening reading all the complaints. Do you find that the mod thread is "whiny-er" than this one?

Petz,

Oh, definitely....and because of it, it looks to me like things are out of balance. At times AMD is presented as being almost godlike, and then, at other times, there is almost nothing the company can do right. Hence, my reaction to the complaints re ASPs. I expect that the analysts might not care that AMD is trying to gain market share but certainly the mod thread knows that's the right way to go....so why the complaints that ASPs are down? Did they expect AMD to gain market share thru magic?

The other part of this is how little reaction there is to the posts that are bearish. The bears are posting with impunity. That whole gap thing played into everyone's fears.

One more rant and then I am done. The complaints about P/E are to be expected but enough already. Most stocks are getting major haircuts, and P/Es are dropping everywhere. MTSN, a stock I owned once, closed under $10 today after being above $50 in March. It has a trailing P/E of 7 and a forward P/E of 4.....sad but true. And its a good company.....unfortunately its a semi equipment maker.
