Interesting assumptions u have made...

"Evidently, you havent bothered to visit any of the numerous hardware review sites out there (I talk of Anandtech, Tom's Hardware, Aces Hardware, JC's Semiconductor News among others."

No, but in the course of being a director of a technology consultancy I have visited Tier 1 vendors that have silicon. I bet u haven't even been in the same room as a P4?

"...the sounds of a wistful Intel investor longing for the days when they had virtually no competition to worry about..."

Yeah, very funny. I reckon I have my finger on the pulse of INTC too. I didn't actually go short (and the "80's" was a typo of "90's"). But if u had done some research before spouting then you would have had knowledge rather than guesses. But research does not seem to be your strong point judging by your investment decisions. BTW SSTI seems to be doing nicely (up 25% since I reported buying heavily in the post u r criticising) so if you wanna judge my "cool post" on actual results rather than bullshit, then it's 1-nil. When AMD is at 11, it will be 2-nil, see u then.

Today INTC got within $1/2 of its all time intraday high.
Do you think it is making a double top? It is an old favourite of mine, having held it for years in the 80's. In those good old days it was growing fast and valued cheaply. Now the reverse seems to be true. Could it be time to stick the knife in my old friend and try to make money on the way down also?

INTC has nearly halved since I made that post in July. And that is down to earnings growing but not as much as expected. The market will cream AMD v. soon in anticipation of faltering results.

.. just a hardware guy who reads these boards with interest at how a-holes and thinking people's views vary.
