This assumes that the violence in the middle east has a religious basis, which it does not. This is not a battle for religious ideals, but rather a battle for land. The assumption that the arabs in the middle east want peace is one made only by the ignorant. What they really want is every jew out of Israel. What killed the last round of peace negotiations was Arafat's refusal to give up his BS claims to Tel-Aviv and Haifa. So, lesse now, they want Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, and Haifa... where does that leave Israel? As to my statement being a generalization, well, of course it is. The problem is that this particular generalization applies to an overwhelming percentage of the target group. As I said, as a whole, they contribute little to society other than violence. The attack against the USS Cole is just one more example. What possible religious idealism could account for bombing a US ship at this time?
