Neil: "Am I the only one that thinks AMD is discounting too much? Having 1Ghz at around 50% of Intel's seems a bit silly. Why not increase margins a bit?" Comment: AMD wants to increase the 1 gig plus percentage of its mix as fast as possible as that's the range in which competition is minimal at the moment...If demand for 1 gig plus increases rapidly enough in Q4, one might then look towards firmer pricing...perhaps even increasing prices were demand to exceed supply...but firming prices will probably have to wait Y2001 when AMD has staked out a clearly defined niche...
