Bull Information Systems to market Imagis Technologies biometrics products in UK
Strategic Partnership to Market New Biometric and Imaging Applications to the Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Market
VANCOUVER, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ - (OTCBB: ``IGSTF''; CDNX: ``NAB''; Germany: ``IGY'') Imagis Technologies Inc. (Imagis), and Bull Information Systems Ltd. (Bull) today announced an agreement to market Imagis products in the UK. Imagis is a global software developer of biometric solutions and Bull is a leading European information technology company headquartered in Paris, France.
Bull has chosen ID-2000(TM) Facial Recognition technology as the basis for a number of biometric offerings to the criminal justice market. In addition, Bull will market Imagis' flagship criminal database application CABS(TM), as the Bull Nominal Biometrics and Imaging solution (NBI). This will become part of Bull's leading suite of criminal justice products.
The Bull NBI solution is an image-oriented criminal information system that will offer UK police forces new capabilities to solve crimes. Bull will offer ID-2000(TM) Facial Recognition as an extension to its existing suite of criminal justice products. The NBI suite includes Crime File, Crime & Criminal Information System, STORM Command and Control System (including a mobile deployment), Cell Management, Pol.Net Intelligence systems and others.
``Bull's objective is to offer more comprehensive solutions to the law enforcement market and this relationship with Imagis helps us accomplish that. Both companies will expand their markets significantly,'' said Stephen Smith, UK Marketing Manager, Bull. ``We look forward to working with Imagis and providing the UK law enforcement and criminal justice system with a range of efficient biometric solutions.''
``This partnership gives Imagis the ability to take our solutions into a large market, quickly and in a cost-effective manner,'' said Iain Drummond, President and CEO, Imagis. ``This relationship strengthens Imagis' growing presence in North and South America, Europe and Asia.'' NBI is an advanced criminal information system that integrates images and data. NBI features, which provide for automatic encoding of photo files with automatic ID-2000(TM) matching of the encoded images of possible suspects, have many applications when coupled with Bull's Fingerprint Image Transmission (FIT) system. FIT is well established as the acknowledged standard for monitoring foreigners entering the EEC under the European Union's Schengen Convention. The FIT system links the automated fingerprint recognition systems of eight European countries. For property matching solutions, Bull has implemented a stolen arts and antiquities search system, which can be integrated into NBI. |
