A debatable article on AMD from Red Herring redherring.com. The author conveniently forgets to mention that while 2 analysts downgraded AMD.. 2 analysts also managed to say they thought AMD would do alright 4th qtr.. His email is there if anyone wishes to remind him of that. Scott, This may come as a surprise but I think the article is a very fair one. AMD did disappoint just enough to make Intel current woes seem a little less serious. And the last time ASP's dropped is when AMD tried to take market share with the K6 and failed...the analysts remember that time and so AMD remains suspect. AMD reminds me of one of my friends when I was a kid who always got into trouble and lied.....finally he decided to change his act but it took forever for his parents to figure out that he was a reformed kid. <g> For AMD this time is different but it will take a couple of more quarters for the analysts to really believe it. Having said that, I concur with J. Fowler that the stock will start moving back up soon. And this move back up by Intel is nothing. I predict that Intel will be in a trading pattern between $38 and $45 for a while.....Intel has work to do. ted
