I would rather have a harmless mediocre Senator like Patty Murray than an intelligent Senator like Slade Gorton who does great harm to the environment, great harm to health insurance, great harm to education and great harm to interests of working families. I remember Slade Gorton working to cut Social Security benefits. It cost him an election. If George Bush squeezes out a victory, he will have a Democratic House of Representatives controlled by Dick Gephardt. <g>
