Infiniband silicon nears as spec rolls
eet.com
"The handing out of CD-ROMS detailing the spec by the Infiniband Trade Association is expected to kick off a gold rush for silicon, software, board and system vendors, as data center equipment rushes to adopt the high-speed serial interconnect."

"International Data Corp. (Framingham, Mass.) is predicting that about 100,000 servers supporting Infiniband will ship next year, a number that will shoot up eightfold in 2002 and continue to double in the following years, the group said. Many expect that storage-area network vendors will debut Infiniband products in 2002."
