Hello Thread,

A friend recommended MCOM and I'm doing my dd on it. I've read their web page, this message board, a bunch of press releases, and some analysts' reports. I like what I see so far and I'm considering taking a position in the stock ...

Have a bunch of questions though:

Are there any specifics relating to the recent slide in the stock? or is it just market malaise like in other techs?

Do we know how many subscribers the company has in each city and what is the growth in the markets where the high speed 128 kbps network has been rolled out?

I am based in Houston and will call tomorrow to find out what the cost of the modem and monthly service is. Based on what I've read tonight, seems like they want $300 for each modem plus $80/month for each subscription? Is this correct?

How much competition is DSL to Ricochet? I have DSL at home and we ran a wireless (Lucent Wavelan) LAN to feed 4 computers (3 PCs + 1 Mac). I appreciate the advantages of being wireless everywhere (I mean outside my home) but it is not clear to me whether Ricochet is price competitive with DSL ... You can't get DSL everywhere here in Houston ... but apparently (this is just looking at the maps posted in their web site) you can't get Ricochet everywhere either.

Last, for those of you that have used and tried the system: is it reliable? Do they deliver the 128 kbps that they promised? Anyone benchmarked, eg, a large download?

Good luck and thanks in advance,
fp
