CREE sapphire out of business

Mtnlady,

as long as SiC based devices can't fill the demand, buyers will use the Sapphire devices to fill the gap. From what I can see the sapphire boys seem to be growing just as fast as CREE. Certainly their capital equipment demands are similarly strong.

To really put the sapphire guys out of business, Cree needs to ramp supply faster. As far as ramp speed CREE and Uniroyal seem to be neck and neck. Uniroyal also has bought its own SiC supply, which probably makes them a stronger competitor long term.

Still my money is on CREE.
