We've already covered and agreed on that fact that alll politicians exaggerate and/or lie to get elected. Bush just as much as any of them. That's why the records needs to be studied and the real man. Don't just believe the politicial rhetoric. Gore will stress environmental protection and promotion of cleaner energy souces. Bush and his oil cronies hate that idea and want to try to scare you into thinking Gore is some kind of dreamer. In actuality the alternative energy sources are there. It's not an easy task but now that oil prices are higher again we need to concentrate on finding those solutions. Carter started this during his four years but Reagan immediately dismantled all alternative energy projects once he got in. That was a real shame because for the next 12 years there was no movement or progress on this then low oil prices curing the Clinton years made it a secodnary priority. Now is the time to make this a national priority again.
Here in California we have really improved our air cleanliness by insisting on cleaner burning gasoline. We pay a couple cents more a gallon but it's really worth it to be able to take a deep breath again. In Houston, you can't even go outdoors a lot of the time. If the wind's blowing west you literally need a gas-mask.
