Bush has not admitted his mistakes. Gore has admitted smoking pot. Bush as deflected any questions about his past behavior. That's clear. Expect him to be hammered about it going forward. The press now begins to realize they have given Bush too much of a free ride. They have been hard on Gore but easy on Bush. expect that to change.

What you say is totally a function of your own perception. Why should past drug use even be a real issue, anyway? Most should not care about what kinds of substances these guys were putting into their bodies back when they were in college. Now, if either one of the candidates currently had a substance abuse problem, then that would be a legitimate concern, imo, but not otherwise. My point being that we don't want crack-heads in office, but past partying -in youth- may not be indicative of future performance.

As for Gore's admitting that he smoked pot, he wasn't exactly truthful... as his "few times" would equate to hundreds or thousands of times to anyone who can count. Bush, on the other hand, decided to deflect the issue with an interestingly coy response... to each his own, I guess.

Personally, I think both candidates are -equally- nincompoops for different reasons... but that's a separate issue entirely. -g- Take care
