Re: There's a LOT OF DEMAND - why else would these 30 vendors be asking those prices?

I'm sure there is some demand, even at those prices. And even a few such sales would be profitable. I just don't think there can be high volume at those relative prices. And the 1GHZ Intel part is fussier about cooling which negates some of the usual $30 to $50 dollar Intel case/PS/motherboard price advantage.

Heck, maybe I'm wrong. Do you really think that Intel's $665 1GHZ parts are outselling AMD's $365 1.1GHZ parts? In absolute numbers, not just relative to each company's market share. How about 1GHZ vs. 1GHZ? (AMD is at $269 here - these are thought to be the slowest parts coming from Dresden)

If Intel ever manages to solve P4's problems and ship some parts, we'll finally get to see how fast it will run in MHZ and what kind of performance it has, clock for clock.

MHZ didn't sell for Celeron or Winchip, but maybe P4 will be different or maybe it will be clock for clock competitive.

Will Comdex see P4 on the street? Or just more "technology demonstrations?"
