I don't doubt that Bush has probably done what many young people do and have done. However, that was long ago. It is obvious to anyone who has the perceptive abilities to see that Bush has strong values and integrity. The other night in the debate he was asked some questions that were tough to answer because the answers wouldn't be universally pleasing and would very possibly cost him some votes. He answered forthrightly. Remember the gay question? He stood tall and said he is for equal treatment for all people but not special treatment. In my mind that is a very fair statement. However, I am sure many liberals or the gay community might not like it. Maybe beyond Bush's ability to team build, build consensus, smaller ego, integrity is the fact that you will consistently know where he is on a position and where he stands. With Gore he may very well tell you he is for or against something and yet undermine it behind the scenes. The Gore you get is what he thinks will influence you to do or act as he wishes. Some would call it a con job. Gore is in constant flux attempting to find the persona that will win him votes. He will become more desperate in the next 3 weeks. Notice how he states positions that are 180 degrees from former positions and/or even in his book. Gore isn't the man you can count on. He, not too long ago, said Clinton was the greatest President in history. Now he is trying to distance himself from his hero. Why? If he were truly loyal to Clinton he wouldn't abandon him now. I don't think Bush would abandon you if he were your friend. Look deeper and you go Bush.
