Er, Greg, as far as being inflammatory goes, Carl has been threatened with the specter of Rambus lawyers here. As has at least one other occasional poster. I don't think anything Carl has ever posted comes close to the garbage dumped on him by the local flackmeisters. I make no prejudgements on legal matters, but I am amused by all the flacks around here who still talk like DRDRAM is going to take the industry by storm. Besides the allegedly inevitable triumph of the P4, there's all these mysterious alleged HDTV settop box deals, the vapor launch of ghz RDRAM, and all these other PR announcements that nobody in the industry seems to be much interested in picking up on. I don't claim to be an industry insider, but I would be very surprised if most of the bridges between Rambus and the people Rambus expects to be their customers and use Rambus developed technology (technology in the conventional sense, not patents on stuff Rambus had nothing to do with developing) aren't well and truly burned to the finest of ashes.
