Monty; I've done more thinking on her and a few more
post about the indexing effect. I have to update some
more data before I actually make up my mind..
----------
My second thought on her is to wait and let her start pumping up and down some then maybe grab a dip.
She seems to be having a hard time turning around this down trend, and if she does I expect the bigger move wouldn't
come until after her Relative Strength to CSCO improves either by her going up at a faster rate or CSCO dropping more.
-------------
As it is she is in my Mo Mo gang and I think I've noticed
some program trading of money moving back and forth
between her and INTC.. it's almost like When INTC gets
strong MSFT weakens..and if INTC weakens MSFT gets
stronger. I assume it's some big Institution or
Fund that owns most all of the ones in my Mo Mo,,
and has decided to flip money between the two, in some
sort of attempt to unwind ( distribute ) the shares
of both without just dumping.
-----------
The problem the Big Boys have is they can't get out
of a large position fast without shooting themselves in
the foot.

I have to do some more looking, however I am fairly
convinced any market rally that leaves MSFT out will not last
long. On the other hand when MSFT does start UP the main
part of a foundation for a real market rally to follow is
in , I noticed that in 96 & 97..and the rally took it's time
but MSFT and CSCO eased on up ahead of it.
-----------
At this time just by eyeball , and considering Tax loss
type selling and the indexing effect CPQ looks like its
in better shape to go up than MSFT.

Her short term RS is better than most of the mo mo
stocks.

ORCL and SUNW beats her short term RS but what if profit taking hit's them two, like a lot of funds are down for the year and they don't need to do any tax loss selling, in fact some could take profits from ORCL and SUMW to raise cash levels and still not get caught with Cap Gains.
The dance from here to the end of the year looks like it's
going to be a jitter bug. :-)
