The point I was making was about a really fast MHz ramp being potentially difficult to digest. <Compared to those times, AMD is now in hog heaven.> AMD has a scalable core today and that made a world of difference. <I don't see the Thunderbird/Duron as relatively minor efforts, I consider them the current lifeblood of this company. > The second part of the sentence has nop bearing on the "relatively minor effort" part. <I see the establishment of infastructure (where there was absolutely none) for the new Athlon one year ago as a difficult but critical accomplishment. > And I would consider the problems a serious mis-step. <I could go on but...> All your points boil down to pretty much one bullet - Athlon core. Which I have alrady said was the best thing that happened to AMD. So, feel free to go on if you think you have something that goes beyond Athlon. <I hope their accomplishments continue, I'm looking forward to them.> So am I. But to say that AMD delivered on everything last year is a major stretch. Chuck
