Victor: How could you use the last few years to judge whether or not gold runs counter to stocks?? LOL And as for the "glut" that is huey. There is NO gold glut -- it is all already spoken for, the stuff in the central banks and the gold in the ground is already sold. I know of no other "thing" in the world more heavily shorted and oversold than gold. If financial assets fall from their perch, the gold-shorts will go out of their minds trying to cover.
