Television ads have been seen on The Today Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Howard Stern is advertising Zicam on his radio show. MSNBC.com had an article on the front page and it was picked up by another NBC affiliate. Another poster that I know and trust on Yahoo, cuzn999, wrote that a CBS affiliate carried a story on the local news and that it must have been picked up off the national CBS wire. Gum Tech is aggressively advertising Zicam this cold season and received some amount of good publicity from the announcement that Dr. Hirt's study would be published. I suspect that more reporters will write about the study once it actually prints next week and they have more details to write about. Most importantly, the publicity and advertising sell Zicam, which further supports the bullish fundamentals of Gum Tech. Secondarily, the publicity and advertising might make new investors aware of the company and help move the stock up to a fairer valuation more quickly. IMO, this company is worth much more than the $150 million market cap as of Friday's close. The primary reason that it is there IMO is because Gum Tech isn't very well known. This could change in a flash, and there is a lot of buying power in the short interest as well. If Q4 00 sales and profits exceed Q4 99, I think that a new high over 36 is very likely. If the preventative clinical comes back positive, I think that GUMM will trade substantially higher than that. To any shorts that care to comment: At what price do you admit that you were wrong and bail?
