How do vouchers help the rich? By allowing them an option to vote down local tax increases for public schools. If you want to see the true impact of substitute schools, you need only look at the private schools which sprung up in many southern communities after the people realized they were forced to integrate the public schools. Alternative schools in many southern communities assured decades of underfunded public schools. That's documented. Show me a way of having alternative education without undermining public school financing and I'll be a lot more sympathetic, but not until then.
