Looks like DDR is dead dead dead. Looking for comments.

The timings are very difficult.

Have you read the Intel PDF about DRDRAM v DDR?

intel.com

Bit of a narrow view `DRDRAM is DEAD` 23 companys support DRDRAM including
Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation, PixelFusion, Compaq Computer Corporation
NEC Corporation, Samsung Semiconductor Inc, Kingston Technology Company
SMART Modular Technologies, Agilent Technologies, Advantest America Inc
Tessera Inc, Apacer, Cypress Semiconductor, Kingston, LSI Logic, Molex, Toshiba
United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC)....and will be used in HDTV`s, Sony`s Playstation2
and future Set-Top-Boxes

Plus DRDRAM has been already designed to use 1.8 volts with no major design change,
try saying that to DDR and you will hear aloud thud, even extending the performance of DDR
to the next level (DDR2) needs New signaling levels, device protocols, and packaging, to improve the
performance of DDR. Each of these proposals breaks infrastructure compatibility with DDR,
requiring an entirely new round of infrastructure development as well as extensive simulation, test,
and validation of the new technology.

DRDRAM will just need to use a pin(s) that it isn`t using now
