LTX's Fusion HF Selected By Lucent Technologies for Bluetooth; Lucent Uses Fusion HF for Rapid Quad-Site-Test Deployment of Bluto ICs
September 13, 2000 12:04 PM Eastern Time
WESTWOOD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 2000--LTX Corporation LTXX , a leading supplier of semiconductor test equipment, today announced it has been chosen by Lucent Technologies LU Microelectronics Group, the world leader in communications semiconductors, to supply its Fusion(R) HF test platform for the volume production testing of Lucent's Bluetooth wireless communication ICs.

LTX's Fusion HF test equipment will allow for rapid testing of Lucent's radio frequency (RF) Blueto subsystem, enhancing Lucent's ability to produce Blueto chips in volume and providing Lucent's customers with the opportunity get their products to market quickly.

"Fusion has helped us deliver a high throughput test system for our advanced Blueto products," said Richard Bertoldo, Director of Product and Test Engineering for the Lucent Technologies Microelectronics Group Wireless Division.

Roger Blethen, President and CEO of LTX, commented, "Lucent's Bluetooth ICs are an ideal match for Fusion HF. Fusion HF provides a Blueto test solution with the lowest cost-of-test and the ability to test future generations of system-on-a-chip (SOC) Blueto devices - quad-site-test on Fusion was the answer. We are pleased that Lucent has utilized Fusion's multi-year experiences in SOC and Wireless RF test technology."

Fusion HF, configurable with up to 1024 500MHz I/O digital channels, offers a comprehensive system-on-a-chip solution with the best digital VLSI, embedded memory, and mixed signal test capability in one platform. Its suite of instruments provides enabling test technology for the advanced functions being embedded in system-on-a-chip devices. With its ability to test the complete spectrum of semiconductors, Fusion also significantly improves tester utilization. Fusion is powered by enVision++(TM), a revolutionary new programming environment that combines reusable, object-oriented digital programming with highly flexible mixed signal test development.

LTX Corporation is the only semiconductor test equipment company to offer a "one test platform, zero compromises" solution for testing the full spectrum of system-on-a-chip, mixed-signal, digital and analog integrated circuits. Headquartered in Westwood, Mass., the company has additional development facilities in San Jose, Calif., as well as sales and service facilities throughout North America, Europe, the Pacific Rim and Japan. LTX also provides development and manufacturing facilities in Japan through its unique alliance with Ando Electric Co. Ltd. LTX is traded on the Nasdaq National Market under the symbol "LTXX."
