<<I did miss Oprah. So Bush has come out about it?
Good to hear. I'd like to know how he explained it away.>>

Yep, she asked and he answered. Dubya like many men in business, and like my father, would come home and have several Single Malt Scotches, retire to the den to relax. It became a habit. One morning while jogging he thought he was missing time with his family. Quit drinking. He wasn't a mean drunk, just got too involved with business and relaxing. He quit drinking and the alone time. Turned his relaxing to be with his family. Found a "higher power" which everyone who quits using alcohol does. His higher power was his family and God. I can't fault him there.

<<Did he express concern for those with dependencies and take his lesson to heart or did he deflect it as "boys will be boys"? >>

Neither, he did his, but is an example, by his quitting. He also took full responsibility about what drinking he did do. Not one iota about pressures or anyone causing him to drink.
