How about one nuke lands on LA because of no missile defence system today. Kills more than any drug shortage that I haven't found.

The idea that a small hostile country like Iraq will hit the US with a missile is the most ludicrous proposition I have ever heard.

First, such an action will invite certain annihilation of the offending country. It's easy to detect who launched the missile.

Second, acquiring and testing intercontinental ballistic technology is no small task and is hugely expensive.

Third and most important, there are far more effective, cheaper, and anonymous ways of delivering a nuclear bomb to 90% of the US population: put it in a container and sail it into any of the busy US ports (including LA and New York).

The knuckleheads that devised elaborate systems to defend US ships against sophisticated missile attacks but left them completely exposed to a rubber raft full of explosives, are the same ones arguing for an elaborate, expensive and mostly useless missile defense, when even the most incompetent smuggler can slip an atomic device into the US through literally thousands of poorly supervised ports of entry.
