Hi All:

New to this thread, and short - small so far.

Trying to understand this incredible company. Why has Juniper been so incredibly successful? What do they have that has prevented (and will prevent?) other companies from competing effectively? Why have they so quickly taken market share from Cisco?

Why is the market so confident that these guys can grow the company so fast without making significant errors? Is the market so confident that only these guys can bring out the next generation of product? Why?

Is it a particular product, a patented technology - what? As you can see, I am not a high-tech expert, but I do know that earning the kind of market cap enjoyed by JNPR requires a very well protected market position. Very strange indeed for a company so young to have a market cap so huge.

Perhaps one of you could point me to a few links, or a discussion you all had at an earlier date. Thanks in advance.

Peter
