Well, I'm particularly worried about N. Korea lauching a biological attack against us...

They, and anyone else who did so, would be subject to massive retaliation by US strategic forces.

However, that said, the whole concept of MAD will one face the problem of a rogue nation that refuses to fall in line with the law of nations, a leadership faced with eventual downfall that decides to take everyone else with them...

And having even a semi-capable anti-missile defense poses what amounts to an additional psychological deterrence.

And most importantly, I think it will pave the way to what is really needed... a planetary defense system that is aimed at taking on wayward asteroids looking to collide with us.

Some people call a NMD destabilizing, but I think it is just that much more assurance that national leaderships will think twice before attempting to attack us.

And it provides an amazingly effective rationale for other nations to ally with us in order to enjoy the umbrella of that defense system.

Regards,

Ron
