There's more to this story than what Fox wrote. Searle is being sued over this by a woman who had complications during child labor. This compound is a drug of choice to induce labor for women undergoing child birth. Lack of it, although it has been implicated in some small fraction of complications, will likely lead to an even greater problem, in some other small fraction of patients. If this is a political game it's a sad state of affairs, I don't care whose to blame. Who cares who makes it. Anybody with pots and pans can make it. You sound like you don't like Chinese because they have some pots and pans and can make a steroid. Get real. The whole world can make this, RU-486 and a half-million other drugs.
