PJ - I think you need to dig deeper into the dot-net initiative. It is the opposite of a centralized computing environment. Don't get caught up in the hype and FUD being put out by MSFT competitors - go and read up on what the initiative is about.

The problem I see is one of execution - this works against the "MSFT DNA" developed over the last 10 years or so. But the basic thrust of the initiative is to eliminate the need for "a centralized computing environment" and all of the work I have seen so far supports that notion.
