American Spirit, you bring out a good point with respect to polling. Today, telephone technology has changed from how it was during the last national election. And polling technology has changed as well. I don't think we're gonna see any kind of accurate polling until very close to election day.
I think it's fair to say that most Americans don't like either candidate. Oh, no--not again!?! Again, it's gonna come down to the smell test in order to determine who you're gonna vote for, with the criteria being which candidate do you despise the least.
In these turning point times, given we've got Gore and Bush as the only two viable choices, I think Gore is better suited for the job. If for any other reason, at least we know all there is to know about Gore. Think. Other than what's been spoon fed, we know little about Bush's past.
Maybe the test is which candidate is least likely to become impacted in the manner Clinton was with his presidency, what with allegations of sexual misconduct, etc. And based on how the wash has spun thusfar, there's too, too much about Bush's past history which we don't know about, and too, too much whisper as to what it may have been like.
Will Americans make the same mistake again? Hope not. |
