rudedog, RE: While you are correct that those authorities can look at DELL's sales to determine what customers owe, they can not ask DELL to either collect the taxes or even track what those taxes ought to be, under current rulings. True, although given the advancement in technology, the cost to calculate the respective local taxes and then disseminate that information to the respective taxing authorities would be minimal. Collection would still be up to the local authorities, but it would be much more difficult to evade. My guess is that something based upon this model will come around soon.
