Some of the people who are here are long term holders who won't sell for anything. Some are traders. A very few here, as opposed to some other bulletin boards, are hypesters. Most people aren't bothered: the hypesters can always cook up something, the traders love volatility, and the holders are, well, holders.

And virtually all of the people on SI have a healthy disrespect for any kind of "wisdom" that gets dug up by someone who isn't a regular SI'er and published in some newspaper. Most of us are at SI in large part because we trust each other and don't put much stock in the mainstream media's ability to report accurately about the stock market.
