Touchy, touchy. For Itanic to be years ahead of AMD's offering, the k8 would have to slip by at least a year. Want to place any bets on that? Of course, this is assuming the Itanic ever gets out of its current permanent pilot production state.

Sort of a silly thing to argue about, because 64 bit processors have been around a long time. Dirk Meyer had a hand in designing one that worked pretty well before he went on to the K7. Intel had plenty of people working on the Merced back then too, and look where it's got them.

Just keep throwing stones out of the glass house, though, Eric. Probably gets a little stuffy in there, with all the Paul Excel types around. Better ventilation might help.
