Just a couple more thoughts on this Power tower idea.

Being open, sturdy structures they should be less subject to sway.

Being high and away from people, there should be no eye related risks.

So therefore, they should be able to tighten their beams and raise their power (which they widened and lowered because of those 2 items), and increase the distance they can reach, thereby lowering the cost (which has to be compared to laying/maintaining fiber).

This concept is an interesting one. Those towers are EVERYWHERE. And at 40Gbps, it may be cost-effective too.
