Erci,

Itanium is at 18 months and counting, while Willy seems to be headed for a launch 12 months after first silicon.

With Merced Itanium, I think the difference is that Intel doesn't want to launch it. There is no OS, the performance is mediocre at best, and as a result, there is no demand for it. McKinley should have some advantage compared to Merced.
