Re: Linux delays

The problem will only get worse. The Linux kernel has been accreting code at a tremendous rate. History shows that programming ceases to be a technology problem and moves into the domain of sociology when the size of the program exceeds the capacity of a single human mind. Linux has long since crossed that point with the current kernel weighing in at over 10 megabytes. The need for stability as functionality increases imposes enormous logistical strains on the integration and testing process. With no one really in charge it's only a question of time before either the whole process grinds to a halt or else Linux begins to fraction into divergent supported dialects (Red Hat, Suse, etc.)

When this point is reached the time will be ripe for MSFT to enter the market with an "MS-Linux" offering. Watch this space.
