I have a curiosity for each of you: What competency age are you in dreams? I'm thinking in terms of confidence in mastering your environment. The prevalence of fear or terror. Do you make things happen, or are you usually reacting to events that occur?

I wonder at what mental/emotional age dreams are generally experienced in. I wonder if one of the functions of dreams is to try to resolve emotional difficulties in our lifelong development of self? This would be even more reason to get a good night's sleep...

I remember an aboriginal ritual (I forget the name of the People) that involved facing and confronting one's fears in dreams (usually symbolized as monsters, or whatever is threatening in one's mind), and requiring the monster to give a gift that you can use to better your life. This gift could be anything, and it could be a surprise to the dreamer...
