Non-PC Solutions

A set-top device with a CF/PCMCIA slot and
no LCD screen is sounding more
and more attractive to me.

I like the 2.5 inch hard drive idea.

How about a lower density drive,
say 10 gigabytes or less,
and a stacked dedicated CD-R drive
in place of those expensive Zip discs?
