Tellaire hinges plans on wireless laser format

A new company emerging from stealth mode this week is among the first to build a service provider strategy almost entirely around free space optics technology.

Dallas-based Tellaire plans to build broadband local access networks using laser technology as its primary transport medium. In bypassing incumbent property, the company hopes to provision data connections to commercial buildings more quickly and with more discretion than its non laser-based competitors.
